Nuristan, Nurgram, Fruit Tree Nursery Establishment in 4 Rural Valleys

Description of Activities:

Established 4 fruit tree nurseries, one in each of 4 targeted valleys of Nurgaram district. 2. Identified and trained 200 rural fruit orchard owner-operators, approximately 50 per each valley. Orchard lot owners were trained in quality fruit tree planting, growth and management standards. 3. Introduce new and improved fruit tree planting material to local farmers with a production target of 20,000 saplings from the four nurseries.
